Renata Youngblood Music: Sounds
Passer-By

Part of your words are still in my head
and I lie awake at night instead
instead of drifting to someplace
with no worry or dread
unlike the confines
of a slumberless bed
The pieces of puzzles will fall into place
futile the efforts of winingless race
thought I wanted to sail in your ocean so free
I found I'm accustomed to my turbulent sea
I could not do what you wanted me to
would you rather a lie if the truth could hurt you?
But I'm not up for the lie
I don't know why
I had to make you cry
I never meant to be another passer-by
