David J
David J is the Producer of Renata's up-coming album... and this just scrapes the surface of his current work and art. He is also a founding member of the bands Bauhaus and Love & Rockets. Take a look at his lifetime of genius. Thank you David for everything!
Sanders Bohlke
If you haven't heard his name yet, soon you will. A deeply soulful young man from Mississippi who sings and plays deeply moving folk-soul music. He is probably the greatest talent I have heard in a long time that seems to still be relatively undiscovered. This won't be for long though. He's now signed to a great indie record label, working with a renowned booking agent and his debut album is already selling off the rack. This man is not only one of the nicest guys I've met in music, but also the best kept secret... for a little while.
Ashley Newton
Ashley is a photographer with no limits to her talent. She captures the best moments not only with individuals but also with families, children, pets, landscapes, and homes. This new website of hers demonstrates just how broad the range of her skill is.
Kim DiVine
Kim has the voice of an angel and a skill with songwriting that humbles even the most experienced of veteran songwriters. Based in San Diego by way of the east coast, she has built an extremely loyal following in a very short amount of time. Find out why she is well on her way to a huge career in music.
Damon Aaron
One of my favorite songwriters of all time. My love affair with his music began at first note. There is no way I could adequately express in words the audible heaven in which everyone exists while listening to Damon's music. Folk-soul music with a nine-piece band and tasteful touches of electronic sounds. You must check out one of his soulful performances if you ever get the chance.
Blue Eyed Son
One of my favorite acoustic performers with a sound that is a fusion of Elliot Smith, Bob Dylan, and the ocean... literally; the ocean. I feel like I'm on a remote beach somewhere selecting which perfect right to paddel out to every time I hear his music. You can also hear his music on many popular primetime television shows. A talent like no other.
Aaron Bowen
Aaron is not only one of the best guitarists I have ever seen on stage but also a songwriter that could make the talent of Diane Warren look meager. In fact it's highly likely that he will be the next 'Warren' of our generation. He is also one of the most coveted producers in San Diego and is known for his meticulous attention to detail and perfection in all the projects he produces. You have probably heard his performance of his song 'Tea Cup Boat' on the sound sytem at Starbucks when you're grabbing a cup o' joe. I wonder how an artist can be so multifaceted without being eccentric... well, maybe he is ;)
Tim Mudd
This young singer-songwriter, originally from England, has accomplished an extraordinary amount in a very short life. He tours regularly, has been the frontman of a band yet can stand alone with a guitar and make you weap. Deep and soulful. Passionate and gentle. Loud and soft. This artist has a dynamic that will melt your heart and have you dancing all at once.
Bauhaus
The reunion of this popular band that began in the eighties is a treat for all of us that have loved their music for so long but were still in diapers when they first hit big. They are currently on tour in Europe and it is rumored that a new album may be in the works. The producer of Renata's EP and the soon-to-be-released LP, David J, is also the bassist in this legendary ensemble. They are timeless and great and we are happy to see them all together once again.
Bushwalla
I am so lucky to share a night with these guys from time to time when we're in the same town and I am always stunned at what I see and hear. Billy's talent is one of the most authentic I've heard and he commands a mic as though his life depended on it. Really, please take some time with this stuff! You're bound to be inspired to try your luck at beats and rhymes. Only in my case I decided to leave the freestyle up to Bushwalla... I hope nobody heard my pathetic attempt!
Niall James Holohan (The Dark Prince of Pop)
Where do I begin? Niall is a Dubliner with a serious agenda. At the young age of 25 he has already built a world wide following and has gathered armfuls of media attention. He combines a classic sound (ie. Bob Dylan) with a modern, sometimes darkly poetic acoustic refrain. When I first heard him I thought, "this guy could be the love-child of Van Morisson... or maybe the younger, more talented brother of David Gray." This young man will leave an extraordinary mark in music.
Glenna Jennings
She is the genius behind the dragonfly-light photos on this site. Her photos will be featured more in some of my up-coming releases. I LOVE this womans' brilliant and eclectic art!
Jane
Jane is beautiful, inside and out. Her voice is warm like butter yet strong like a tidal wave. I can't tell you the number of times this woman gives me goosebumps... and how could that be a bad thing?
Jenn Grinels
Ok, so the first time I heard Jenn sing it took me an hour to pick up my jaw from the ground. Not only that, she f**kin' rocks out on stage! Just when you think you know how good she is, she blows your mind again and you say to yourself, "how does she do that?!"
The Biddy Bums
This band represents all that is great in southern California acoustic grooves. I am constantly amazed at their tight harmonies and brilliant acoustic guitar riffs. You can't help but to sport the perma-grin through their entire performance. It just feels that good!
Peter Murphy
The man, the voice, the legend... an incommunicable honor it was to open for his shows this weekend past, but much more than this is the inspiration he has given me to be a true and authentic artist.
Sarah Fimm
For all the fans of orgasmic sounds... this woman's music is for you. Haunting and beautiful, Sarah's music has a way of moving sound around itself as though it were tangible. She recently wrapped up a world tour with Peter Murphy of Bauhaus. You must see her performance next time she comes to your town. You will never forget it.
